Grant to be Named for Education Foundation’s First President
October 2007 -- The South Kingstown Education Foundation (SKEF) suffered a great loss this past summer with the death of one of its most generous supporters, Sue Velicer. Sue was instrumental in organizing SKEF and serving as its first President. Her tireless efforts and winning personality garnered SKEF much attention from the media and the community at a crucial time in the organization’s growth. Her energetic example spurred many other community members and organizations to lend their support to the fledgling foundation.
In honor of Sue, SKEF will henceforth designate on of its education grants The Sue Velicer Grant award.
She will be missed.
