Decide On A Purpose For Your Classroom Web
Before you start creating your classroom web, you first need to know what the purpose of the website is. If you can specify precisely what that purpose is beforehand, that will help your site become much more focused.

Now that you have a purpose for your site and an outline for what it will look like, it's time to get started.  When you are ready to begin, your first step is to email the technology department with your intent to create a web site.  They will add that functionality to your account.

The home page is going to be the landing spot when anyone uses the web to connect to your web site.  If you choose to have a simple presense on the web, it can be your only web page and contain all of the information that you want to share over the web.

The Homework page contains a series of tables and navigation links.  You can modify the table headings, colors, etc. to make it work for you.  The Homework page can be used to publish a variety of assignments by date, subject, etc.

The Downloads folder can be one of the handiest tools on your web site.  How many times have students or parents called or emailed because they lost or forgot to bring home a document that you passed out in class?  This is also very helpful for students who may be out sick for a number of days.
