9105 Building Code Compliance

The South Kingstown School Department realizes the need to provide safe, healthy, and code compliant facilities for children and staff. It is with that in mind that:

·       _any proposed changes to or modifications of the existing building or grounds must include the input of the Maint-enance Director;

·       _the Maintenance Director will assure that at least one person from the contractor/volunteer group has the appropriate licenses, permits, and insurance to perform all necessary work;

·       _no changes shall be made without following all applicable codes and regulations detailed by the town's building inspector or appropriate authority (local or state) and the school department's Maintenance Director;

·       _all contractors/volunteers must sign in at the main office and fill out the appropriate forms (AHERA Contractor Notification Form at a minimum) at the start of the job and at the end of the job. The secretary or custodian must call the maintenance department to let them know the contractor is on site.
