The program will lend itself to
1. an assessment of the educational program of the district for purposes of charting the growth of groups of children, grades, schools and the district from year to year .
2. appropriate reports to the school committee
3. providing additional supportive information to aid in curriculum development
4. The district testing program shall embody those tests required for district participation in school committee approved programs.
Norm-referenced tests are given to obtain comparisons between South Kingstown students and students throughout the country. They are not designed to accurately measure the mental capabilities or achievement of the individual student. These tests can serve as a predictor of academic achievement in traditional classroom.
This letter, printed in red, is to be attached to any norm-referenced test results given to parents.
